Stretch Mark Removal: How To Erase Your Ugly Stretch Marks….
Dealing with stretch marks can be a real challenge. Most women never regain their self esteem after their pregnancy simply because of these ugly scars. Whether its because of a pregnancy, bodybuilding or weight gain there is a solution for you and you DO NOT have to live with these scars.
The most effective forms of stretch mark removal is either with special creams or with surgical procedures. Although there are a lot of so-called home remedies around, there no real proof that it actually works.
While surgery and stretch mark creams are the 2 most effective methods it does come at a price. Surgical procedures can range from $2000 to as much as $10,000 while commercial creams can be as little as $20 per bottle. Specialized creams are more expensive, but they offer superior results and often you can’s buy them commercially. If you cannot afford surgery, then I would highly recommend you try specialized stretch mark creams. Below is my quick reviews of the 3 best creams on the market…
Revitol Stretch Mark Cream Review:
You can hardly talk about stretch marks these days without the name Revitol popping up somewhere. Over the last few years its become the leading stretch mark removal cream, but does it really work?
From my experience its definitely not the “miracle cream” that many people make it out to be. Getting rid of stretch scars in a couple of weeks is just a myth and its just not possible. A recent study of Revitol actually confirmed my personal experience with it. In an independent Revitol study with 120 volunteers, the average time it took to eliminate stretch marks was 2 months. Although most women reported seeing visible results after 2-3 weeks it actually took 2 to 3 months of persistent and correct use to eliminate stretch marks.
At first it might sound like a long time, but if you consider the fact that this is a relatively inexpensive cream it really is a very effective option. Surgical procedures can cost as much as $10,000 and still not guarantee results. One of the most telling aspects of the study was the fact that 114 out of the 120 women using Revitol reported that it “worked” for them.
The active ingredients in Revitol is effective at treating both the scar and the discoloration to smooth out y skin and get rid of the stripes. Although its not a “miracle cream” as many make it out to be it is in my opinion the most effective cream for stretch mark removal.
For the best results you will have to start using it during pregnancy and continue to use it afterwards. One of the biggest negatives of the product is its availability. It can NOT be bought in stores and must be ordered directly from Revitol. International orders can be slow, but their customer service is very helpful.
Most effective stretch mark removal cream and its 100% natural. Its very affordable, offers a free trail and a money back guarantee. Dozens of confirmed testimonials on their site.
Availability – only be purchased directly and international orders can be very slow.
Price: Free Trail (limited offer)
Money Back Guarantee: 60 days
Overall Rating: 8/10
ZenMed Stretta Review:
Stretta is a relatively new product and although it does not have the track record that Revitol has its become very popular amongst pregnant women. Stretta is not as fast-acting as Revitol but what it does is to heal deep scars and if you have “old stretch mark scars” then this might be a better option for you. It has complete different ingredients than Revitol and follows a very different approach to healing damaged skin tissue.
The fact that Stretta does not work as fast as some of the other products it one of the main reasons why most people give it a bad wrap. The fact remains that it is a good product but its definitely better suited to long term use and if you are carrying stretch marks from previous pregnancies then this is a great solution.
In terms of overall value for money and effectiveness, I won’t rate it s high as Revitol simply because it does not work that well and its more expensive. However, it’s a good product and a great alternative that’s freely available in most good stores.
Widely available and you can purchase it in virtually all good cosmetics stores. It’s a good product for heavy stretch marks and for “old scars”.
Has some harsher ingredients that can irritate sensitive skin. Also, this is a long term treatment and can take as much as 12 moths to be successful.
Price: $49.99 (30 day application)
Money Back Guarantee: 60 days
Overall Rating: 7/10
Tri-Lastin SR Review:
As one of the most hyped up stretchmark creams I was really excited about it when it first hit the market, but unfortunately my excitement was shirt lived. After my order took 3 weeks to arrive, I opened the package to discover 2 bottles that look anything but a professional skin care product. Although this is one of the most expensive creams, it looked quite cheap and immediately gave me a bad impressions. (update: they have since upgraded their product line and it definitely looks more professional now).
Although this product is heavily marketed, its bit of a dud for me. Less than 50% of its users report visible results and the fact that they have no confirmed testimonials on their site leaves me a bit skeptical. There’s no doubt that the ingredients in Tri-Lastin are known to reduce the appearance of stretch mark scars, the product itself does not seem to work nearly as well as Stretta or Revitol. They recently added some very impressive clinical studies that was done with the product and its worth checking out.
My biggest criticism is the price. As one of the most expensive creams on the market I would expect much better results. Its simply not value for money. As a high end product though, it is still much better than commercial creams and the fact that its freely available means it may be worth a try if you can’t get hold of Stretta or Revitol.
Its got a good ingredients base and is freely available. They just added some impressive clinical studies.
Too expensive and probably not the best value for money.
Price: $79.95 (6 OZ Tube)
Money Back Guarantee: not clear
Overall Rating: 6/10
Stretch Mark Removal Made Easy
Stretch marks appear when a person’s skin is stretched to a point beyond its flexibility level. Upon excess stretching, it tears from inside, leaving behind ugly scars on the body. The pink, purple or dark red color that appears during the primary stage is due to torn tissues and small blood vessels present in the outer layer of the skin.
The appearance of of these scars is not limited to the tummy area. They can also appear on a person’s upper arms, thighs, breasts, calves and buttocks.
While it’s challenging to get rid of these scars, there are several ways by which you can get your smooth, glowing and stripe free skin back . Below are some of the tips to help one deal with stretch mark removal.
Apply creams and ointments that aid in rejuvenating the skin. Creams and ointments help to reduce and fade the appearance of stretchmarks with consistent use. By maintaining the skin’s moisture and flexibility, creams and skin serums can help the skin repair the damage caused by the skin stretching to the point of scars forming.
Exfoliate the affected area of the skin. Exfoliation is a treatment which involves usage of a safe abrasive substance that helps to remove dead skin cells from our skin. The soft new skin that appears after exfoliation will improve the appearance of the skin. Technically, exfoliation does not remove the marks, but it helps in eliminating their ugly appearance for a longer period of time after each treatment.
Let’s now have a look at the home remedies to treat stretch marks.
- Home remedies
Mix one teaspoon apricot kernel oil, two tablespoons of wheat germ oil, half a cup of cocoa butter, two teaspoons of Vitamin E oil, four teaspoons of beeswax and two teaspoons of light sesame seed oil. To begin, shred the beeswax to make it melt easier. Then place all the ingredients into a saucepan and gradually heat until the beeswax and cocoa butter melt together. Stir well. Move away from the heat to allow cooling. Spread generously over the affected areas.
- Healthy diet and exercise.
Stretch marks can also result from lack of nutrition. Make sure to consume foods that support skin health: foods high in vitamin A and C such as carrots and citrus fruits and milk; protein-rich foods, such as eggs; foods rich in zinc, such as nuts and fish.
Drink lots of water. Sufficient hydration keeps your skin soft. Hydrated skin is less likely to form these scars in the first place.
- Advanced Cosmetic Procedures
Pulsed dye and vascular lasers are some of the proven methods for stretch marks removal. Latest fractional resurfacing lasers show positive effects as well. Depending on the extent of your condition, repeat treatments may be needed.
It’s best to consult a dermatologist for the most effective treatment for your unique condition. They are the experts when it comes to skin care, and that includes stretch marks removal. Coupled with proper diet and medication, your dream of achieving a flawless, smooth skin is within your reach.
